IN THE NEWS
Apple Vision Pro fans start returning the headsets
I guess the Vision Pro honeymoon is over and the fans are up on social media with claims to return their headsets for $3,500 refund.
Apple allows its buyers to products within 14 days, and deadline elapses today. However, aside normal product returns, users have cited several reasons for the returns.
Comfort is among the top on the list with buyers saying the headset gives them headaches and triggers motion sickness. The Verge Product Manager; Parker Ortolani had this to say;
“Despite being as magical to use as I’d hoped, it was simply way too uncomfortable to wear even for short periods of time both due to the weight and the strap designs. I wanted to use it, but dreaded putting it on,”

Meta settles lawsuit on Quest headsets’ haptic feedback tech
Immersion is a company specializing in haptic feedback tech had sued Meta over the use of its touch feedback tech in the Quest VR headsets.
However, in the latest press release according to TechCrunch, Immersion said that it had signed a license with Meta to make Immersion’s patents available to Meta and its affiliates’ hardware, software, VR and gaming products. The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
“We’re delighted to grant Meta a license to our patents for haptic technologies. We’re excited to license Meta for their delivery of high-quality haptics in their devices.”
VR/AR APPS
Over 1,000 Vision Pro Apps
A couple of day ago, Apple senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, announced on X that the company’s “spatial computing” headset now has more than 1,000 apps designed specifically to take advantage of the new hardware.
Some of these applications include a number of streaming apps like; Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok, Disney+, ESPN, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+
Also, we have productivity apps like Slack, Notion, Zoom, WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft and others.
This growth indicates that developers in the Apple’s community see potential for the spatial computing platform.
A huge thank you to our developers! Their hard work has already resulted in over 1,000 incredible spatial apps designed specifically for Vision Pro, along with over 1.5 million compatible apps. We're thrilled to see how they'll continue to push the boundaries for what’s possible.
